# Track Your Deck Generation Process in AutoScaled

> Tracking deck generation in AutoScaled: monitor batch progress, check statuses, and stop live runs. AutoScaled product documentation. Read the guide.

When you run a workflow via *Run Now*, *Trigger*, or *Scheduling*, a generation process starts. This process is generally called a **batch**.

The generation process can be viewed by clicking the "Track Progress" link:

</Frame>

## Batch generation page

The batch generation page shows generation progress and offers options such as *stopping generation*, *refreshing progress*, and *error logging*:

## Tracking automated deck generation

The main purpose of this page is to track the progress of your presentation automation workflow.

### Batch generation progress card

The top card of the page is the batch generation progress card. It shows:

1. **Progress bar:** a progress bar with the percentage and number of presentations generated relative to the total number of presentations this workflow will generate
2. **Start time:** the time when the generation started in your local timezone
3. **Completed:** the time when generation finished in your local timezone
4. **Failed:** the number of presentations that failed during the generation process

<Frame caption="Batch generation progress card on AutoScaled">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/autoscaled-9092cc1e/zWdP3AV89ldmM_id/images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(13).png?fit=max&auto=format&n=zWdP3AV89ldmM_id&q=85&s=0629365b717e1f53281011807e74928d" alt="Batch generation progress card on AutoScaled" width="1920" height="1080" data-path="images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(13).png" />
</Frame>

### Progress status updates

In the top-right corner, above the batch generation progress card, you will find the current progress status of your workflow:

<Frame caption="Track the progress status of an AI content workflow">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/autoscaled-9092cc1e/zWdP3AV89ldmM_id/images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(14).png?fit=max&auto=format&n=zWdP3AV89ldmM_id&q=85&s=8ba6f0e13bcc5629d4e1647b3bf61375" alt="Track the progress status of an AI content workflow" width="1920" height="1080" data-path="images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(14).png" />
</Frame>

#### Different progress statuses

There are three main statuses for a <u>full workflow</u>:

1. **Processing:** presentations are currently being generated using your data.
2. **Completed:** all presentations have been successfully generated from your data source.
3. **Failed:** more than 10% of the presentations you tried to generate from your data source failed to generate.

<Warning>
  When the status is **Failed**, the workflow removes the generated presentations and no credits are consumed. When the status is **Completed**, you can still check whether any presentation failed using the batch progress card under **Failed** and the error logs under **Generated Presentations**. Credits are charged only for successfully generated decks.
</Warning>

### Refreshing progress

The progress bar and card update automatically during the generation process. Sometimes you might want to manually refresh the progress, especially when generating hundreds of presentations in a single workflow. Click the **Refresh** button:

<Frame caption="Refreshing the progress status of content workflows">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/autoscaled-9092cc1e/zWdP3AV89ldmM_id/images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(15).png?fit=max&auto=format&n=zWdP3AV89ldmM_id&q=85&s=8c61ca06edd6f805142216c13cd0f024" alt="Refreshing the progress status of content workflows on AutoScaled" width="1920" height="1080" data-path="images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(15).png" />
</Frame>

### Stop deck generation

AutoScaled is powerful automation software for generating sales decks at scale directly from your data. Sometimes you might make mistakes in your workflow setup that require you to stop the generation process early.

To **stop** a presentation workflow that is actively generating presentations, click the **Stop** button at the top right of the page:

<Frame caption="Stopping a live generation process in AutoScaled">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/autoscaled-9092cc1e/zWdP3AV89ldmM_id/images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(16).png?fit=max&auto=format&n=zWdP3AV89ldmM_id&q=85&s=e9202669b0aea618c3c1c0479d0312b6" alt="Stopping a live generation process in AutoScaled" width="1920" height="1080" data-path="images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(16).png" />
</Frame>

<Tip>
  Using **Stop** is the safest way to end a generation run. Under **Generated Presentations**, you will see decks that finished before you stopped.

  If you want to **remove** faulty **presentations** from your storage, select them and click **Delete**.
</Tip>

#### When not sure, do a test run first

In the last step of your workflow setup, there is an option to do a **test run**. The test run is limited to **5 records** and allows you to preview how data will be populated in your slides.

Stopping a run is a valid last resort, but it is better to validate your setup before running a full workflow. When in doubt, run a test first:

<Frame caption="Doing a presentation workflow test run on AutoScaled">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/autoscaled-9092cc1e/zWdP3AV89ldmM_id/images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(17).png?fit=max&auto=format&n=zWdP3AV89ldmM_id&q=85&s=99f22f18b35d32ede393c1f412e95700" alt="Doing a presentation workflow test run on AutoScaled" width="1920" height="1080" data-path="images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(17).png" />
</Frame>

Once you run the test, the batch process will kick off limited to 5 presentations. You can see the results of the test run and then click on "**Generate All**" to continue generation:

</Frame>

## Generated presentations overview

The **Generated Presentations** section lists every presentation the workflow attempted to generate:

<Frame caption="Generated presentations overview on the batch page of AutoScaled">

</Frame>

### Presentation actions

You can take actions from this view, including opening, presenting, exporting, sharing, and removing presentations. For most presentation tasks, use the presentation management page.

<Card title="Content Management" icon="layout-grid">
  Everything you need to manage your presentations: open and present decks, find files on Google Drive, export to PDF or PowerPoint, and share with clients.
</Card>

### Generation statuses

Next to each presentation, you can find the status of the individual deck generation. There are three possible statuses:

1. **Creating:** the presentation is currently being generated
2. **Created:** the presentation has been successfully generated
3. **Failed:** one or more errors occurred while generating the presentation.

<Frame caption="Viewing the individual status of a presentation generation">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/autoscaled-9092cc1e/IaU_97P2Eq6BQDCk/images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(20).png?fit=max&auto=format&n=IaU_97P2Eq6BQDCk&q=85&s=8a9aff04d57039431e8d1a1095be927d" alt="Viewing the individual status of a presentation generation" width="1920" height="1080" data-path="images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(20).png" />
</Frame>

#### Error logs

If a presentation fails to generate, an error log is available for that deck. The log explains why generation failed.

For **runs via scheduling and triggers**, you receive an **email notification** with the error details **if an error occurs** during the workflow run.

## Completed deck automation workflow

Once your workflow has successfully completed and all decks have been created from your data, the status will be marked as completed:

<Frame caption="Generation complete status on AutoScaled">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/autoscaled-9092cc1e/IaU_97P2Eq6BQDCk/images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(21).png?fit=max&auto=format&n=IaU_97P2Eq6BQDCk&q=85&s=70ba0bc0edf17f89994e8cac5d120801" alt="Generation complete status on AutoScaled" width="1920" height="1080" data-path="images/AutoScaled--Product-Documents-1920x1080-(21).png" />
</Frame>

Once completed, open the **Presentations** tab to use your personalized decks.

From the Presentations page you can return to the batch page to review presentations from a specific batch.
